Why Do Others Always Like The Work You Like The...

Ive noticed since JHS that the illustrations I draw in which I tend to be most proud of, others dont really care for, and then when its an illustration I'm not really excited about, others tend to be so impressed with it. The same seems to be true for my photography. Does anyone else have experiences like this?
